Earliest gaming memory: Mum playing space invaders at 12am on an Atari 2600.
Now a dad with a wife and two small kids, little time, and a decent PC steam streaming to a surface pro 3 after the kids are asleep and the TV is being used for watching TV shows.
Likes: Third person adventure games with slower, less combo-driven combat, and lots of exploration.
Dislikes: gory, explicit death and or suffering animations (and to a lesser extent generally having protagonists kill people) - I understand there's a weird hypocrisy at being okay with Batman punching out a dude, but not okay with Marcus Fenix curb-stomping. Dennis Cowan (via Oliver Queen) once expressed his disdain for terrorists who kill kids. He said something to the effect of, "The kid could have grown up to be a scientist who cured cancer, or Ghandi, or just a nice guy. He shouldn't be denied that chance by a guy with a bomb and a cause."
... It's all just fantasy, but when the world we live in is so thoroughly horrible sometimes, the fantasy I choose to invest in involves revenge and saving people. That's who I am.
