Maybe they could start doing the Quick Look Throwbacks again. Its basically the same thing as Replay. Then they could do a Super Quick Look Throwback. Also, yes to Dan and his dad doing an Endurance Run. I wonder what his dad would think of Mountain. (I actually think it is pretty cool.)

@myfriendscallmejim: Weird. I went to post the video of Peter Molyneux reviewing fart apps with Dan and Game Informer's video had been taken off of Game Informer's YouTube page. I wonder if GI is pulling YouTube videos with Dan for some reason. Like, Dan joining Giant Bomb is going to create a lot of interest in his Game Informer work so they want to drive people to their website as opposed to having them go to YouTube?

I can confirm that Dan is a huge Nintendo fan. I seem to recall him mentioning on Twitter how stoked he was for everything that Nintendo showed at E3.

Also, at some point I was going through withdrawals after the Persona 4 Endurance Run ended. Looking for more content like that, I came upon Game Informer's Replay series. This led to me seeing the Overblood Super Replay (to those that don't know, its basically GI's version of the Endurance Run) and I've been a big fan ever since. Dan's level of stupid is perfect for Giant Bomb so only good things will come of this. Jason is great as well, but Dan is the one who had Peter Molyneux review fart apps.

I would like to think that Giant Bomb could announce that they hired Dan at any point, but Dan asked them not to because he just wanted to watch everyone squirm. It seems like something he would do, just fucking with all of us.

Dan Ryckert and Giant Bomb is the most perfect match I can imagine. Also, he mentioned on Twitter earlier that he will most certainly be continuing to play games with his father every year. Way too excited about this.

For me, Mega Man 2 has the best soundtrack of all time. Actraiser was great as well. That was my first experience with Yuzo Koshiro. I think that Contra has great music. I particularly like the Snow Field level. Can't really think of anything else that particularly sticks out. Castlevania is great. I really liked Duck Tales' music. There is probably better music, but it probably came from a game that I never played. All of Mega Man 2's music is great though, so that gets my vote.

EDIT: I also really liked the elevator-musicy vibe of Pilotwings' music. F-Zero had great music as well. I should also mention that I had a Super Nintendo back in the day so I don't know too much about the Genesis games' music. It is likely that there was better music on that platform than what I mentioned above.

I never owned any of the Konami NES sports games, but I played Blades of Steel and Double Dribble at friends' houses. I think I might have been impressed by those a bit, but I was eight years old or something so I don't recall. That "It looks like it hit the tree, Jim" is burned into my head as well. I have roommates that play Tiger Woods games currently and I will say that whenever they hit a tree.

The first time my mind was ever blown by voice in a game was when I was at the Dillard's department store and I saw Ys Book 1 and 2 playing on the Turbografx 16 with the CD-ROM add-on. I think my mind might have been blown when I saw the CD-I at a department store as well, but I was young and stupid.

I haven't played this game yet and I don't know if this will help you, but Kotaku posted an article a while back titled Some Tips For Playing Metal Gear Rising, Since It Does A Terrible Job Of Explaining Anything To You. It sounds like you are completely done and not interested in continuing at all, but I hear that the link is pretty useful.

I would also highly recommend the Overblood Super Replay over at Game Informer. Their Replays and Super Replays are usually anywhere from pretty to very entertaining. Dan Ryckert is amazing. I enjoyed the Half-Life Super Replay a lot as well. Just watch them all.

Pretty much the only time I ever post on here is when I'm drunk. Also, World of Warcraft is most entertaining when inebriated. Warioware is good too.
