Overview
Desura was a digital distribution platform that used a native OS-client to distribute their games. This application had to be downloaded from their site and was available for PC, Mac, and Linux. Games, reviews, images, and other content could be managed via the client.
Desura was originally released in 2009 by Desura Pty. Ltd., a private Australian game company, after undergoing two years of stealth development. Desura Pty. Ltd was acquired by Linden Labs on July 10, 2013 and the service continued uninterrupted. On November 5, 2014, Linden Lads announced that they sold Desura to Bad Juju Games. Bad Juju Games then filed for bankruptcy in June 2015.
